Reading the book made me curious about ‘hikkomori’ so Kanwe googled it. However, in a speech at the end of term, the teacher relates the story of what happened that day and of how two students in the class are guilty of her murder… This is a literary mystery. The same story completely changes when it’s seen by diverging points of view.

The various perspectives are strong and depict the differences in age, mentality, and ability of those given the narrative reins, which can force a reader to relax their preconceived notions.
