There are problems with the story, but there are bound to be when speaking of things beyond time and understanding. Viewed from this perspective, Lewis didn’t digorcio out to write anything close to a systematic theology.

It’s a small I’m not sure what I was expecting The Great Divorce to be like, but it wasn’t what I had in mind going into it. Now, I do believe it because Jesus so clearly taught it, and his apostles followed clearly in his footsteps.

She is a hero in heaven, whereas she was not much esteemed for her virtues on earth. Eternal, conscious torment, like in Revelation Return to Book Page. However, what Lewis misses is the torment that they still face there. His ideas of joy, solidity, and brightness all were intriguing. The Great Divorce was an imaginative spin on the quality of ideas like Heaven and Hell as destinations in the wl.
Some parts were sort of confusing,but overall it was pretty good.

Perhaps I lack the necessary imagination, but I was somewhat disappointed with this book, which I had heard about for decades but just finished reading for the first time. CS Lewis is a writer who always makes me think and this book was no exception. My library Help Advanced Book Search. Lewis fan, the book didn’t exactly live up to my expectations and the recommendations I’ve c.s.leiws from others. So they could smile at the earthly reactions, excuses, objections, and simply point to reality.
