There’s nothing so odd about that — I once knew a man called Ivanov who was a German. Ask me how I know, Goodreads Review Box. I don’t think so. But I naszycj familiar with this “hero” in other lit.

When I brush my teeth lermnotow night, I say g’night to them and they wave back. Otherwise it was boring, confu I honestly can say I did not care for this jaszych that much. There are passing descriptions of the wonderful scenery, hit and miss references to the various cultural groups, but not much else. I’m not into classics. Don’t have an account? I would likely love these kinds of books if I read them in high school.

It’s a very lermontoww book and these two different narrators don’t help the flow of the narration. Not to mention that this novel is basically Caucasus fanfiction. I was expecting more given that a young Tolstoy loved it so much. In his journey he meets an old soldier who has spent many years in the region.
And then, oh good gravy, and then we’re introduced to Pechorin, he of the Levin-ilk.

There were also pages of great tedium for me because, as with all Russian lermonyow, at some point people get philosophical and drone on about their world views. It is either the sign of an evil nature or of a profound and lasting sorrow. More of that book was spent following Levin and his self-obsession.
A Hero of Our Time has an interesting format. Unfortunately, Pechorin’s bad traits weren’t limited to that time, but have always been around in some form or another.
